Biography
Gladys Sheehan was an Irish actor who appeared in numerous films and television productions, typically in supporting or minor roles. She is credited as Ena Benedict in Rawhead Rex (1986) and as Grandma Ryan in Hear My Song (1991). Her other screen work includes parts in How Harry Became a Tree (2001), Trojan Eddie (1996) and The Honeymooners (2003), as well as episodes of series such as Ballykissangel and Strumpet City.
Sheehan, born Gladys Peace Carr in Dublin in 1921, lived in Bray, County Wicklow, and was a familiar face in Irish cinema from the 1980s onward, working at Ardmore Studios and appearing in more than 100 productions. She also taught drama.
