Biography
Glenn Corbett (born Glenn Edwin Rothenburg; 17 August 1933 – 16 January 1993) was an American actor. Born in El Monte, California, the son of a garage mechanic, he served in the United States Navy as a Seabee. He began acting in campus theatre productions at Occidental College in Los Angeles after meeting his first wife there, and made his film debut in The Crimson Kimono (1959).
Corbett gained prominence replacing George Maharis on the series Route 66 (1963–1964). He appeared in films including Shenandoah (1965), Chisum (1970), Big Jake (1971) and Midway (1976), and guest-starred in Star Trek (1967) as Zefram Cochrane. His television work included regular roles in The Doctors (1976–1981) and Dallas (1983–1988), as well as the part of Agent Spelling in The Rockford Files (1979).
