Biography
Gordon Hunt was an American director, voice director, actor and acting teacher who worked across television, animation, theatre and film. He directed episodes of the sitcoms Frasier (1993), Mad About You (1992) and Coach (1989), among others.
Born in Pasadena, California, Hunt began his career in New York and later served as casting director at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. He spent twenty years at Hanna-Barbera as a recording director on numerous animated series including The Jetsons, The Smurfs and Scooby-Doo. He also directed stage productions and musicals at the Hollywood Bowl.
Hunt won a Directors Guild of America Award in 1996 for an episode of Mad About You. He was the father of actress Helen Hunt and was married to voice actress B.J. Ward. He died in 2016 at the age of 87.
