Biography
Gordon Lonsdale is a cinematographer and occasional director. He trained at Brigham Young University, where he earned a degree in communications, and began his career in the late 1970s as a grip and camera assistant before moving into cinematography for television in the late 1980s.
He served as director of photography on multiple episodes of the CBS series Northern Exposure (1990–1995), credited sometimes as Gordon C. Lonsdale. Subsequent credits include Space: Above and Beyond (1995–1996), The Magnificent Seven (1998–2000), Bones (2006–2013, where he also directed episodes), and NCIS: New Orleans (2014–2020, again combining cinematography and directing duties). He has also worked on Disney Channel films including High School Musical (2006), Read It and Weep (2006) and The Gabby Douglas Story (2014).
Lonsdale is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
