Biography
Gordon Wiles was an American art director, production designer and film director. He began working in Hollywood in the early 1930s and received an Academy Award for Best Art Direction for the film Transatlantic (1931).
Wiles continued in art direction and production design on numerous films through the 1940s, including Me and My Gal (1932) and Gun Crazy (1950). He also directed eleven features, among them Charlie Chan's Secret (1935) and The Gangster (1947). He died in 1950, aged 46.
