Biography
Gore Vidal was an American writer and occasional actor. Born Eugene Louis Vidal on 3 October 1925 in West Point, New York, he died on 31 July 2012.
He wrote novels, essays, plays and screenplays, including the original story for Caligula (1979), the screenplay for Suddenly, Last Summer (1959), and adaptations or original works for Is Paris Burning? (1966), The Night of the Generals (1967) and The Best Man (1964). He also appeared as an actor, notably as Director Josef in Gattaca (1997).
