Biography
Grégoire Hetzel is a French film composer. Born in Paris on 20 June 1972, he studied at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris from the age of fifteen and began composing music for silent films at the Cinémathèque française while still a student.
He first gained attention in the early 2000s for his work with directors Mathieu Amalric and Emmanuel Bourdieu, and later collaborated extensively with Arnaud Desplechin on films including Rois et Reine (2004), Un conte de Noël (2008) and Trois souvenirs de ma jeunesse (2015). He composed the score for Denis Villeneuve’s Incendies (2010) and has worked with Catherine Corsini, Cédric Anger and others. Hetzel has received multiple César Award nominations for best original music.
