Biography
Gregory Rozakis (30 January 1943 – 24 August 1989) was an American character actor and playwright. He made his Broadway debut in 1963 in William Inge’s Natural Affection, playing the son of Kim Stanley’s character. That same year he appeared as Hohannes Gardashian in Elia Kazan’s America America.
Rozakis later played Charlie Chaplin in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Cotton Club (1984) and had roles in Death Wish (1974), The Gambler (1974) and Five Corners (1987). He also appeared in guest roles on television series including Kojak, Starsky and Hutch and Charlie’s Angels. As a playwright he wrote and performed in the off-Broadway play Chalk Marks on a Brick Wall at the age of 18, which was later broadcast on CBS, and wrote The Class.
He attended Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn and studied at New York University and with Lee Strasberg.
