Biography
Gretel Vella is an Australian television writer and producer. She graduated from NIDA with an MFA in Writing for Performance.
She began her television career writing episodes of Doctor Doctor (2018–2019). Vella joined the writers’ room for The Great (2020) as a staff writer, later becoming co-producer on the series. She created, wrote and executive-produced the Stan series Totally Completely Fine (2023), and contributed to Class of ’07 (2023). Additional credits include the television films A Sunburnt Christmas (2020) and Christmas Ransom (2022).
Vella has received Writers Guild of America nominations for her work on The Great, as well as AWGIE and AACTA nominations.
