Biography
Guy Marchand (22 May 1937 – 15 December 2023) was a French actor, musician and singer. He appeared in more than 100 films over a career spanning more than 30 years.
He played André in Maurice Pialat’s Loulou (1980). Other film roles included Inspector Marcel Belmont in Garde à vue (1981), for which he received the César Award for Best Supporting Actor, Marcel Chavasson in Coup de Torchon (1981), and appearances in Cousin, Cousine (1975) and The Longest Day (1962). He was best known for portraying the detective Nestor Burma in the television series of the same name (1991–2003). Marchand began as a singer with the 1965 hit La Passionata and published an autobiography in 2007.
