Biography

H.H. Caldwell, also credited as Harry Handly Caldwell, was an American film editor and writer. A former United States Navy officer, he entered the motion picture industry after retiring from naval service and later collaborated extensively with his wife, Katherine Hilliker, on silent films.

Caldwell worked as a production editor, title writer and adapter for Fox Film Corporation and other studios. His credits include 7th Heaven (1927), on which he served as editor and writer, Lucky Star (1929) and City Girl (1930). He contributed to numerous other productions of the late 1920s, often handling intertitles and narrative supervision.

Caldwell was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1873 and died in New York City in 1939.
