Biography
Hajime Okayasu (岡安肇) was a Japanese film and anime editor. Born in Tokyo in 1936, he worked extensively in both live-action cinema and animation, editing over a hundred titles across several decades.
He edited Shohei Imamura's The Ballad of Narayama (1983), Black Rain (1989), The Eel (1997) and Dr. Akagi (1998). He also edited numerous anime productions, including long-running series such as Doraemon and films in the Crayon Shin-chan franchise. Okayasu received Japanese Academy Award nominations for Best Editor for The Eel and Dr. Akagi, and won the award for Black Rain. He died in 2014.
