Biography
Hakuryu (白竜) is a Japanese actor and musician. Born on 3 October 1952 in Imari, Saga Prefecture, he is a second-generation Korean resident of Japan. He formed the Hakuryu band in 1978 and made his recording debut the following year before entering film in 1984 with Yoichi Sai's Someone Will Be Killed.
He is known for roles in Takeshi Kitano's films, including Violent Cop (1989) as Kiyohiro and Fireworks (1997) as the Yakuza Hitman. Other credits include The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008), My Way (2011), Beyond Outrage (2012) and Outrage Coda (2017). He has also worked in television, voice acting and Korean productions.
