Biography
Hans Rameau was a German screenwriter. Born Paul Hans Julius Gulder in Berlin on 28 November 1901, he began his career in the German film industry in the 1920s, working as a writer, actor and assistant director on titles including Faust (1926).
Following the Nazi Party's rise to power in 1933, Rameau left Germany. He worked in Austria and Britain before moving to Hollywood, where he contributed to screenplays for Waterloo Bridge (1940), The Mortal Storm (1940) and Madame Curie (1943). He returned to Europe in 1951 and continued writing for German and Austrian productions until the mid-1960s. Rameau died on 9 April 1980 in Gavignano, Italy.
