Biography
Hansjörg Weißbrich is a German film editor. Born on 6 February 1967 in Siegen, he studied music, French literature, theatre, film and television studies in Dortmund and Bochum. He began as an assistant editor and has worked as a freelance editor since 1995.
Weißbrich has edited more than sixty films and series. He has collaborated repeatedly with directors including Hans-Christian Schmid and Maria Schrader. His credits include Night Train to Lisbon (2013), Colonia (2016), 7500 (2019), the series Unorthodox (2020), I'm Your Man (2021), She Said (2022) and September 5 (2024).
He has received several awards, including the Deutscher Filmpreis for best editing for Sturm (2010) and Zwei Leben (2014), as well as the Deutscher Fernsehpreis. Weißbrich is a member of the Deutsche Filmakademie and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
