Biography
Maria Schrader is a German actress, screenwriter and director. Born on 27 September 1965 in Hannover, she trained at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and began her career on stage before moving into film and television.
She is known for her leading role as Felice Schragenheim in the 1999 film Aimée & Jaguar, for which she received several awards, and as Lenora Rauch in the series Deutschland 83 (2015) and its sequels. As a director she made her feature debut with Liebesleben (2007) and has since directed the miniseries Unorthodox (2020), for which she won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, the feature I'm Your Man (2021) and She Said (2022).
