Biography

Hansol Jung is a South Korean playwright, translator and television writer. She holds an MFA in playwriting from the Yale School of Drama (2014) and has also studied at New York University and Pennsylvania State University.

Her plays include Cardboard Piano (2016), Wild Goose Dreams (2017) and Wolf Play (2019). She wrote for the Netflix miniseries Tales of the City (2019) and the Apple TV+ series Pachinko (2022), on which she also served as supervising producer. Jung received the Whiting Award for drama in 2018, the Steinberg Playwright Award in 2020, a Lucille Lortel Award for Wolf Play in 2023 and an Obie Award for playwriting in 2024.
