Biography
Haolu Wang (Chinese: 王昊鹭) is a Chinese director and screenwriter based in London. She is an MA Directing Fiction graduate of the UK's National Film and Television School and a BAFTA Scholarship recipient.
Wang has directed several short films, including Flip Flops (2015), Lao Wai (2018) and The Pregnant Ground (2019). Her feature debut was the 2021 psychological thriller A Dutiful Wife. On television, she directed the 2022 Doctor Who Easter special "Legend of the Sea Devils", episodes 5–8 of the 2023 Netflix series Bodies (for which she received a BAFTA nomination for Emerging Talent in Fiction), and the 2025 Black Mirror episode "Hotel Reverie".
