Biography

Hardy Krüger was a German actor who appeared in more than sixty films from 1944 onwards. Born Eberhard August Franz Ewald Krüger in Berlin, he began his career in German cinema before gaining international recognition in the 1950s.

He is known for roles in Hatari! (1962), Sundays and Cybèle (1962), The Flight of the Phoenix (1965), Barry Lyndon (1975) as Captain Potzdorf, A Bridge Too Far (1977) and The Wild Geese (1978). Krüger worked in British, French and American productions as well as German films, and continued acting into the 2010s.
