Biography
Hari Nef is an American actress, model and writer. Born on 21 October 1992 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she graduated from Columbia University with a degree in theatre.
Her breakthrough acting role was as Gittel in the series Transparent (2014), for which the ensemble received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. She has appeared in films including Assassination Nation (2018), Meet Cute (2022) and Barbie (2023), playing Barbie. Nef has also had roles in series such as You (2018), And Just Like That… (2021) and The Idol (2023).
She was the first openly transgender woman signed to IMG Models. Nef lives and works in New York City.
