Biography
Harold Hopkins (6 March 1944 – 11 December 2011) was an Australian film and television actor. Born in Toowoomba, Queensland, he trained at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in Sydney, graduating in 1967.
Hopkins appeared in 16 films, including Age of Consent (1969), Don's Party (1976), The Picture Show Man (1977), The Club (1980) and Gallipoli (1981), in which he played Les McCann. He received an Australian Film Institute Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Club. His television credits included more than 160 episodes across series such as The Godfathers, Underbelly and McLeod's Daughters, as well as the miniseries Moby Dick (1998).
He originated the role of Danny Rowe in the stage production of David Williamson’s The Club and was married to actress Sue Collie.
