Biography
Harold Leventhal (24 May 1919 – 4 October 2005) was an American music manager and film producer. Born in Ellenville, New York, he began his career as a song plugger for Irving Berlin and later worked with Benny Goodman before becoming a prominent figure in American folk music.
Leventhal managed artists including Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Joan Baez and Bob Dylan, and promoted major concerts. He co-produced the biographical film Bound for Glory (1976), which received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture, and was involved in the production of Alice's Restaurant (1969). He also produced documentaries such as Wasn't That a Time! (1982) and theatre works.
