Biography
Harold Sakata, born Toshiyuki Sakata, was an American actor, Olympic weightlifter and professional wrestler. Born on 1 July 1920 in Holualoa, Hawaii, he won a silver medal in the light-heavyweight division at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London. He later worked as a wrestler under the ring name Tosh Togo.
Sakata was cast as the mute henchman Oddjob in the James Bond film Goldfinger (1964) on the strength of his wrestling career and imposing build. He appeared in other films and made guest appearances in television series including Gilligan's Island (1967), Hawaii Five-O, The Rockford Files and Quincy, M.E.
Sakata died on 29 July 1982 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
