Biography
Harriet Margulies was a production assistant, writer and actress. She began her career as a publicist in New York and Los Angeles before becoming a production assistant for Universal Television in the 1970s, working on series including Kojak, Magnum, P.I. and Quantum Leap.
Margulies co-wrote an episode of Kojak in 1977. In the 1990s she worked as an audience liaison for JAG and then NCIS, serving the latter for 19 years. She made cameo appearances as an actress on Quantum Leap, JAG and NCIS, where she played an attractive older woman. The JAG character Harriet Sims was named after her.
Margulies died on 30 October 2021 in Northridge, California, aged 94.
