Biography
Harry C. Myers, sometimes credited as Henry Myers, was an American actor and film director. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and began his career as a theatre actor before entering films in 1909 with Lubin Studios in Philadelphia.
By 1914 he was directing his own comedy shorts, frequently starring with his wife, the actress Rosemary Theby. He appeared in more than 300 films between 1908 and 1938, and directed over 50 shorts between 1913 and 1917. After 1920 he took starring roles in feature films.
Myers is known for his performance as the eccentric millionaire in Charlie Chaplin's City Lights (1931). Other credits include The Marriage Circle (1924) and A Slight Case of Murder (1938). He died in Hollywood, California, in 1938.
