Biography
Sir Harry Secombe was a Welsh actor, comedian and singer. He played Mr Bumble in the film Oliver! (1968).
Secombe was a central performer in the BBC radio series The Goon Show (1951–60) as Neddie Seagoon. He appeared in other films including Davy (1958) and The Bed Sitting Room (1969), and later presented television programmes featuring hymns. He was appointed CBE in 1963 and knighted in 1981.
