Biography
Haya Harareet was an Israeli actress and screenwriter. Born Haya Neuberg in Haifa in 1931, she made her film debut in the Israeli production Hill 24 Doesn't Answer (1955). She gained international recognition for her role as Esther opposite Charlton Heston in William Wyler's Ben-Hur (1959).
Harareet appeared in several European films in the late 1950s and early 1960s, including The Doll That Took the Town (1957) and The Secret Partner (1961). She later wrote the screenplay for Our Mother's House (1967), directed by her husband Jack Clayton. She died in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, in 2021.
