Biography
Hayley McElhinney is an Australian stage, film and television actress. She was born on 12 September 1974 and graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 1999.
McElhinney has worked with companies including the Melbourne Theatre Company, Black Swan Theatre Company, Perth Theatre Company and Sydney Theatre Company, and was a core member of the Sydney Theatre Company’s Actors Company ensemble from 2006 to 2008. She received a Helpmann Award nomination in 2007. Her film roles include Claire in The Babadook (2014), May in Rams (2020) and a part in How to Please a Woman (2022). On television she has appeared in Rizzoli & Isles (2013) and played Penny in Doctor Doctor (2016–2021). She is the sister of actress Mandy McElhinney.
