Biography
Heather Wallace is an Australian costume designer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in visual art, majoring in sculpture and art theory, and studied set and costume design at the Centre for the Performing Arts. She began her career in Melbourne working in theatre and opera before returning to South Australia and moving into film.
Wallace has more than three decades in the industry, including many years as a key standby costume person. For the past fifteen years she has concentrated on costume design for short and feature films and television. Her credits include Samson and Delilah (2009), The Babadook (2014), Sweet Country (2018), Top End Wedding (2019), the series Mystery Road (2018–2020) and Firebite (2021–2022), and The New Boy (2023). She grew up in the southern Flinders Ranges and has a particular interest in Australian and Indigenous stories.
