Biography
Heavy D, born Dwight Errington Myers, was a Jamaican American rapper, singer and actor. He led the hip hop group Heavy D & the Boyz, which released several albums in the 1980s and 1990s. He later pursued solo work and acting.
His film roles include Peaches in The Cider House Rules (1999), Omar in Step Up (2006) and a courthouse guard in Tower Heist (2011). Television credits encompass appearances in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), Bones (2005) and Life (1999). He died in 2011.
