Biography

Heitor Lorega is a Brazilian screenwriter. Born in Curitiba, Paraná, he initially studied architecture before working in film festivals and as an assistant art director on shorts and television series.

In 2018 he began collaborating with Murilo Hauser on screenplays. Their credits include Mariner of the Mountains (2021), directed by Karim Aïnouz, and the screenplay for I'm Still Here (2024), directed by Walter Salles and adapted from Marcelo Rubens Paiva’s memoir. The pair won the Best Screenplay award at the Venice Film Festival for the latter film.

Lorega has also contributed as a script consultant on other features and wrote an episode for the documentary series A História de Uma Planta (2024). He is credited as a writer on The Blue Trail (2025).
