Biography
Helen Ryan is a British actress born on 16 June 1938 in Liverpool, England. She is known for portraying royal figures, including Princess Alexandra, later Queen Alexandra, in the television series Edward the King (1975), for which she received a BAFTA nomination.
Her film credits include Princess Alex in The Elephant Man (1980). She has appeared in Clash of Loyalties (1983), Bertie and Elizabeth (2002) as Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands, The Crown (2016) and episodes of Midsomer Murders and Sherlock Holmes. Ryan was formerly married to theatre director Guy Slater.
