Biography
Helen Shang is a television writer and producer. She was a member of the CBS Diversity Writer’s Mentorship programme in 2010 and a fellow of the CAPE New Writer’s Fellowship in 2014.
Her early credits include production staff work on Body of Proof (2013) and researcher on The Chicago Code (2011). She wrote one episode of Hannibal (2015) and served as story editor and writer on the seventh season of Hawaii Five-0 (2016–2017).
Shang has written episodes of 13 Reasons Why (2019), The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022–2024), Invincible (2025) and Avatar: The Last Airbender (2026). She has also written short films including Scratch (2016) and Distance (2014).
