Biography

Henrik Georgsson is a Swedish director of television drama, feature films and documentaries. He studied documentary directing at the Swedish Institute of Dramatic Arts (Dramatiska Institutet) from 1992 to 1995 and began his career as an assistant director.

Georgsson is best known for directing episodes across all four seasons of the Nordic noir series The Bridge (2011–2018). His other television credits include Marcella (2016), Wallander (2005 and later episodes), Blue Eyes (2014–2015), Wisting (2019–2024), Grace (2021–2022) and the documentary series Pray, Obey, Kill (2021). He has also directed the features Sandor /slash/ Ida (2005) and the documentary Stieg Larsson: The Man Who Played with Fire (2018).

Work on The Bridge brought Georgsson several awards and nominations, including Kristallen awards for Best TV Drama, a Golden Nymph at the Monte Carlo TV Festival and a BAFTA nomination for Best International TV Drama.
