Biography
Henry Clive (born Clive O'Hara) was an Australian actor, production designer, magician and illustrator. Born in Melbourne on 3 October 1883, he moved to Hollywood and appeared in silent films including Her Silent Sacrifice (1917), Fighting Odds (1917) and Obey the Law (1933). He also worked in the art department on titles such as When the Clouds Roll By (1919) and The Affairs of Anatol (1921).
Clive served as production designer (uncredited) on Charlie Chaplin's City Lights (1931). He was initially cast in the role of the millionaire but was replaced during production. Earlier in his career he performed as a magician under the name Clive O'Hara and later worked as an art director for First National Pictures and as an illustrator for The American Weekly.
He died in Hollywood on 12 December 1960.
