Biography
Henry Lincoln (born Henry Soskin) was a British writer, actor and author. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and worked as an actor under his original name before turning to screenwriting.
With Mervyn Haisman, he wrote three Doctor Who serials for the Second Doctor: The Abominable Snowmen (1967), The Web of Fear (1968) and The Dominators (1968, credited as Norman Ashby). The pair created the Yeti and Brigadier Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart. Lincoln also co-wrote the screenplay for the 1968 film Curse of the Crimson Altar.
Later in his career he researched and presented BBC documentaries on Rennes-le-Château and co-authored the 1982 book The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, which inspired Dan Brown’s novel The Da Vinci Code. He died in February 2022.
