Biography
Herbert Cardwell was an American cinematographer. He served as director of photography on David Lynch's short film The Amputee (1974) and as the initial cinematographer on Lynch's feature Eraserhead (1977), handling principal photography for the first nine months of its production before being replaced by Frederick Elmes.
Cardwell was born on 24 October 1940 and died on 16 March 1979 in Crawley, England.
