Biography
Herman Koto is an Indonesian actor. He appeared as himself in the 2012 documentary The Act of Killing, playing the role of a gangster and paramilitary leader alongside Anwar Congo.
Koto and Congo had previously worked as black-market ticket sellers before joining death squads during the 1965–66 mass killings. Koto has a background in local theatre, in which he played women's roles. He stood unsuccessfully as a candidate for the Workers and Employers Party in the 2009 Indonesian legislative election.
