Biography

Hidetoshi Shinomiya is a Japanese cinematographer. He studied filmmaking at the Film School of Tokyo and gained experience as an assistant to cinematographer Akiko Ashizawa before working on independent productions.

He is known for his cinematography on Drive My Car (2021), directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, as well as Wet Woman in the Wind (2016), Liverleaf (2018), Sadako vs. Kayako (2016) and the series Ju-On: Origins (2020). Shinomiya has shot numerous other Japanese feature films and series.
