Biography
Hilary Winston is an American television writer and producer. She was born on 24 September 1976 in Corpus Christi, Texas. After studying at George Washington University, she began her career writing for series including Blue Collar TV and Just for Kicks.
Winston rose to prominence as a writer and producer on My Name Is Earl (2005–2009). She later contributed as a writer and co-executive producer on Community (2009–2011), writing seven episodes. Subsequent credits include writing and producing roles on Happy Endings (2011–2013), creating and showrunning the CBS series Bad Teacher (2014), and writing for Dr. Ken (2015–2017). She has also written for The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017), The Bad Guys (2022) and the Disney+ series Goosebumps (2023–2025), serving as showrunner on the latter. In 2012 she published the memoir My Boyfriend Wrote a Book About Me.
