Biography
Hilda Péter is a Hungarian-Romanian actress. Born on 2 August 1978 in Sfântu Gheorghe, Covasna County, Romania, she trained at the Art University of Târgu Mureș between 1997 and 2001. She began her career in theatre, working at Hungarian-language theatres in Romania including the Tamási Áron Theatre in her home town and the Hungarian State Theatre in Cluj, and received awards such as the UNITER Award and the Jászai Mari Prize.
Péter gained international attention with her leading role in Katalin Varga (2009), for which she won several Best Actress awards including at the Brussels European Film Festival and the Gopo Awards. Subsequent film credits include Berberian Sound Studio (2012), in which she played an auditionee, Box (2015) as Cristina, and Chasing Robert Barker (2015).
