Biography
Hilmar Guðjónsson is an Icelandic actor. Born in Reykjavik in 1981, he made his screen debut in a small role in Clint Eastwood’s Flags of Our Fathers (2006). His first major film role came as Alfred in Either Way (2011), earning a nomination at the Icelandic Film Awards.
After graduating from theatre school he was contracted at the Reykjavik City Theater for ten years, receiving awards and nominations for his stage work. He later joined the National Theater of Iceland, where he has also begun directing. In 2012 he was selected as a European Film Promotion Shooting Star.
Guðjónsson has appeared in dozens of film, television and short-film roles. Notable credits include the Translator in Godland (2022) and Leifur in Wild Game (2023).
