Biography
Hiromichi Matano (又野 弘道, also credited as またのひろみち) is a Japanese anime director and storyboard artist. He began working in animation in the late 1970s, contributing as an episode director and storyboard artist on series such as The Ultraman (1979) and King of 100 Beasts Golion (1981).
Matano has directed episodes or served as episode director on numerous television series, including Slam Dunk (1993), Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters (2000), Pokémon (1997), Blue Gender (1999), Golden Time (2013), Parasyte -the maxim- (2014), Haikyu!! (2014), Dororo (2019), We Never Learn: BOKUBEN (2019) and PLUTO (2023). He has also worked on later projects such as Gachiakuta (2025).
