Biography
Hope Loring was a screenwriter who worked on more than sixty films between 1918 and 1931. She received screenplay credit, with Louis D. Lighton, for Wings (1927), the first film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture.
She also wrote the screenplay for It (1927) and contributed to numerous other silent-era productions, often in collaboration with Lighton, whom she married in 1920. Loring was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1894 and died in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, in 1959.
