Biography
Howard Barish is a Canadian producer and president and CEO of Kandoo Films. He began his career as a first assistant director on Canadian feature films, television mini-series and nearly 100 episodes of network series before relocating to Los Angeles in the early 1990s.
Barish founded Kandoo Films and has produced or executive produced numerous features, often in partnership with director Ava DuVernay. His credits include I Will Follow (2010), Middle of Nowhere (2012) and the documentary 13th (2016). He has also served as executive producer on The Boy Behind the Door (2020) and producer on Blindfire (2020).
13th received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary Feature and won four Emmy Awards, a BAFTA and other honours. Barish was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in 1960.
