Biography
Howard Epstein (1917–2016) was an American film and television editor. He received his first feature credit as one of the editors on the 1956 adventure film Around the World in 80 Days, alongside Gene Ruggiero and Paul Weatherwax. His other film editing credits include The Devil's Hand (1961), The Littlest Hobo (1958), Counterpoint (1968) and The Hell with Heroes (1968).
Epstein worked extensively in television, editing episodes of series including The Six Million Dollar Man (1975), Ironside, Ellery Queen, Emergency! and 26 episodes of The Dukes of Hazzard (1980–1985). He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for his work on the anthology series Alcoa Premiere in 1963. Earlier in his career he served as an assistant editor on the 1955 film Oklahoma!.
