Biography
Hugh O'Connell (4 August 1898 – 19 January 1943) was an American actor who appeared in films and on Broadway. Born in New York City, he began performing on stage in the 1920s and made his film debut in the early 1930s.
His screen credits include the role of Niki's Orderly in The Smiling Lieutenant (1931) and Johnson in My Favorite Wife (1940). He also appeared in films such as Diamond Jim (1935), That Certain Woman (1937) and Moonlight in Havana (1942). O'Connell's Broadway work encompassed productions including Once in a Lifetime (1930) and The Milky Way (1934).
