Biography
Hugh Ross is a Scottish actor. Born in Glasgow on 28 April 1945, he was educated at the Glasgow Academy and the University of St Andrews before training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
He began his career in repertory theatre and has appeared in numerous British stage productions, including with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre. Ross received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination for his performance in the musical Passion (1996).
His film and television credits include supporting roles in Trainspotting (1996), Nightbreed (1990), Hannibal Rising (2007), Bronson (2009) as Uncle Jack, Dorian Gray (2009), The Iron Lady (2011), and Outlander (2014–) as Arch Bug.
