Biography

Huntz Hall was an American actor. Born in New York City, he began performing on stage and radio as a child. He appeared on Broadway in the original 1935 production of Dead End as Dippy, reprising the role in the 1937 film adaptation directed by William Wyler.

Hall became known for his work in the Dead End Kids, East Side Kids and Bowery Boys series of films from the late 1930s to the 1950s. He played Horace Debussy 'Sach' Jones in 48 of the Bowery Boys films and appeared in more than 80 entries across the related series, more than any other actor in the group. His other credits include Angels with Dirty Faces (1938), They Made Me a Criminal (1939), A Walk in the Sun (1945) and Herbie Rides Again (1974). Hall died in Los Angeles in 1999.
