Biography
Ian Megibben is an American cinematographer and lighting artist at Pixar Animation Studios. He studied film production at Loyola Marymount University from 1995 to 1999.
Megibben began his career in lighting roles on Pixar films including Up (2009), Toy Story 3 (2010), Brave (2012) and Inside Out (2015). He served as director of photography on the short Bao (2018) and the features Soul (2020), Lightyear (2022) and Hoppers (2026).
A Dallas native, Megibben has cited his upbringing in East Dallas and his father's work as a creative director at a local advertising agency as influences on his visual approach.
